A red "sport" of Beauty of Bath, (this a clone of the variety that was selected because it had naturally mutated to have slighty more colour, this is quite common practice in apple cultivation). It was discovered in Sussex in 1956.
The white flesh is often pink inside. It's a sweet apple, but like many early types, has a slighty acidity. Like Worcester Pearmain it is purported to have a hint of "strawberry" flavour!
