Medlars

A rare fruit, though still seen in gardens and hedges. It looks like a very small russet'ed apple with a huge open eye. The fruit is left until it is "blet" (soft and brown) and then can be used for preserves like Jelly and "cheeses" and "butter". Can also be eaten raw when fully blet!
